Casio Exilim EX-Z200 Review

Reader Score: 7.81 (out of 10)
Review (Summary): "The brand new Casio EX-Z200 is the first ever Casio compact to feature a 28mm wide-angle lens, What's more, this tiny camera manages to squeeze in a 4x zoom, equivalent to 28-112mm, so there's also a useful telephoto focal length too. And even better, Casio have also included a mechanical CCD-shift anti-shake system on the Z200, which physically moves the sensor to help to combat the dreaded effects of camera-shake when hand-holding the camera. ...

... In terms of image quality, however, the EX-Z200 gets pretty much everything wrong. Noise and smearing of fine detail are evident even at the relatively slow speed of ISO 200, purple fringing is obvious in high-contrast scenes, pictures aren't very sharp at the default setting (although this can be increased in-camera), and the long shutter speed of 4 seconds and macro mode of 15cms are frankly disappointing on a camera from 2008. ..."
